Spilt Milk Yoga is a mother-friendly handbook for mothers who want to experience the happiness, peace, and purpose available in each moment, and who want to be more present and connected to themselves and their children.
Spilt Milk Yoga is NOT about yoga poses or parenting, it IS a companion to the inner work we do as mothers growing ourselves, while we grow our children. Spilt Milk Yoga approaches motherhood as a path offering life’s richest and most profound lessons on love, acceptance and joy.
Author, mother, facilitator and coach, Cathryn Monro combines personal experience, honesty, and humour to acknowledge the moments when motherhood stretches us to the edges of our tolerance, patience, anger, and exhaustion and asks; “Will motherhood ruin my life?” “What happened to my body and my career?” “How do I achieve anything?” “Am I doing it right?” “Whose anger is this?” “Is an ordinary life good enough?”
Motherhood is like the most intense retreat we could ever go on, all the exits are blocked, we meet our habits, our best and worst behaviours, and no matter what we have to show up every day and be “mum”, even when we don’t feel up to it. And it’s especially when we don’t feel up to it that we have the opportunity to find a new way forward. Because as mothers we want to do our best for our kids when we wouldn’t do it otherwise. What better place to practice love, compassion, tolerance, and understanding than with ourselves and our children?
Spilt Milk Yoga is more than a book, it is an approach to motherhood, a guide to becoming more the person you want to be, not in spite of motherhood, but because of it.
Check out Spilt Milk Yoga connecting mothers to self and others though the book, talks, workshops, retreats, and companion coaching.
